Boston PainCare

Special Topic: Sex, Intimacy, and Relationships

intimacy  In this workshop we will discuss common challenges to keeping close relationships when one person has chronic pain.

Common obstacles to intimacy are:

  • the pain, feeling tired, loss of sex drive,
  • our partner worries that he/she will cause more pain,
  • feeling embarrassed about our bodies.

We will review a range of things you can do to feel closer and more intimate in relationships.  These strategies focus on communication, physical touch, and emotional closeness.  Loved ones are welcome to attend!
