Beth C. Rn

Beth C. RN

Prior to working at Boston PainCare, Beth knew Dr. Silk and Dr. Keene, both of whom encouraged her to apply for an opening in our surgical department. Happily, Beth joined us officially in April, and she’s never looked back. As a RN on our surgical side, Beth sees patients before and after their procedures, working closely with the doctors during intake and recovery. “I’ve been so impressed with the amount of time the doctors here spend with each patient,” she says. “The doctors take their time to help the patient become comfortable with the procedure, reviewing the effectiveness of past procedures, and addressing their fears. Every patient gets as much time as they need with the doctor. That’s a big difference compared to other places I’ve worked at.”

Beth comes from a medical family. Her mother is a nurse. Some of her fondest memories as a child were of visiting her mother at the hospital where she worked in obstetrics. Initially, Beth graduated from college with a BS in Psychology and worked with autistic adults. Then her father had a heart attack, and he spent 3 months in the hospital in recovery. Beth credits his nursing staff for helping him pull through. It was then that Beth began taking pre-requisites so she could attend Regis College and get her nursing degree. In her off time, Beth loves to spend time with her 4 year old son. He is an active little guy and they spend a lot of time outside at the park and riding bikes. This summer they also spent time at the beach where she taught him the joys of crabbing (but only as catch and release).

Working at Boston PainCare, Beth has had the unique opportunity to see patients before and after their procedures. Beth says: “Boston PainCare was so different, I wasn’t sure if I’d like it. But I love it! When patients come in, they are experiencing pain, but when they leave, they are significantly better. That transformation is both motivating and inspiring.”
