Making a diagnosis of chronic pain is easy, diagnosing the consequences of living with chronic pain is difficult.

  • Why two people with the same condition respond so differently to the same treatment
  • How environmental and behavioral factors influence pain
  • Which type of treatment plan has better outcomes
  • The many and complex ramifications of living with chronic pain (if you affect one part of the body, you affect the entire body)

Meditation and Mindful Action

compassAn exciting new workshop led by one of our Behavioral Health Specialists given on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month.

This workshop will offer mindfulness meditation practices along with specific techniques for coping with pain and stress in daily life. Research over the past 30+ years has shown these practices to be beneficial for chronic pain, stress, depression, and insomnia.

Each workshop will include:

  • Meditation practice in a supportive atmosphere
  • Skills training and practice
  • Group discussion
  • Resources and encouragement of home practice

Many of our patients find living with chronic pain to be very difficult. Just trying to manage the changes in lifestyle, medications, seeing multiple healthcare providers, and the impact on your family and social life can be overwhelming.

Boston PainCare has been recognized as one of the national leaders in chronic pain management by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for our unique, interdisciplinary program. As part of our patient-centered approach, we offer a monthly workshop on chronic pain management.

Join us the first Wednesday of the month
from 12 noon - 1 pm in our Waltham office.

All of our patients and their friends, family, and caregivers are eligible and encouraged to attend.  Space is limited, so please register with our Front Desk prior to attending.
